Cross Faction RP just got easier?

ooh, this is nice. And it will indeed help crossfaction rp, I think. But my thinking shouldn't be trusted at this time of day

Yea I can see how this sux for guys who have 2 accounts just for the purpose of crossfaction rp...

I just find it amusing that any of their so called "golden rules" is immediately thrown out of the window whenever there is the possiblity to make a paid service out of it.

It also begs the question: Is there any point preventing direct cross faction communication anymore?

Can/ should we now all go back to understanding common?

Nah, the common - orcish gap is still awesome.
Imo this might be indeed very nice for RP yeey!

Dont think that the language barrier should be removed that easy - but, for the fun sake of RPers and such - they should make something that would take time, effort and commitment, to then be able to learn the basic language of the other faction i.e Common/Orcish. That way one can keep it more with an exploration feeling, lore and not least logic on how some of us will learn to speak the other language.

After all, during all of warcrafts wars there have been few of each side who have bonded in the strangest ways and understood each other. It also seems that the language barrier only have been existing in the "normal population" as we in the CoT dungeons see that thrall and ms.Proudmore understand each other pefectly - and the latest scene from the violet citadel that thrall, mr.moody and the alliance king understand each other pefectly aswell.

Then again, all them characters have had long, harsh lives filled with knowledge and experience - so its probably understandable that these people have in time learned to speak the native tongue of the other faction.

All im saying is that if it should be implimented, it should be done in a way as i suggested. Nothing easy, but something hard to do - but doable alone. Just takes commitement, effort and time to achieve.

Better that than we all one day wake up and feel slightly dizzy after the language gnome hit our heads with the gigantaur mace of knowledge and we suddenly understand what the pinkskins say....

Not to say that one should only be able to speak the language outside of major combat zones such as WG and battlegrounds.

Horde: "Defend Galv!"
Alliance: "Hey people, ignore Galv for now, Horde is defending him"

Well they already have it on PVE servers, for years. So I doubt we will face the battleground, wintergrasp etc problems. Maybe some ganking in contested areas, but that's what we agreed to when we made chars on a pvp server.

As for the RP this is great! ^^

Hehe, not unlikely - personally i've started to give wow lore the finger since what was good lore, was butchered so the overpower class can keep the powerhungry kids in line. Friendly death knights? come on...They were the elite of the elite old mr.scourgebone could throw at us. Sure, they would break first and get moral quarrels with themselves - suddenly have free will in spite of the lich king standing 25 feet away and a dread citadel howering over their heads...

Anyways, wow as we know it is a place were we cant talk to our purple treehugging friend. So if it was to be implimented, i just think it should be done with more style than most changes of late have been done.

The few who bother to spend 2-3 months working to get the ability to speak the common tongue would be of major value for the RP communities, while the "1337 haxxor" pew pew pew red is dead zerg zerg zerg kids most likely would not bother to the same extent. Think if you were with the first 5-6 who got this ability - you would been sought from near and far to be a translator, making the meetings more "real" instead of you playing 2 characters on 2 accounts to be able to translate - or better yet, alt-tab between wow an IRC to justify why you understand what that "uden mor ulsdor" sentence means

I made a nelf druid Lumia just to see what its like on the other side of SSL.

She will never leave Kalimdor or the elven lands for that matter (might visit the dreanai but thats about it) so I will only level her to 25 or around that.
Stricly a roleplaying character.

I have about 5 chars that would be worth transferring (3 warriors, a DK and a paladin) and 2 of them I would really like to have active if I were to use them. The problem is that I have at least 7 chars that I don't want to delete on Horde-side, so this change is a real pain for those of us with 2. The only way that it could be made better is if they extended character limits on a server to 20 and allowed 2 DK's if you did that extension. Otherwise, this change does nothing for me whatsoever.

I will confess to parking a lvl 55 Hunter in STV and using the /OOM and low health emotes to see how many alliance gankers showed up back on Defias Brotherhood Server ... you'd be surprised how many actually fell for it.
