If you'd resize it to 932 pixels in width it would fit, it's slightly on the wide side at the moment. The one made for the possible WAL 2.0 layout.

However if this originally some fanart does the creator approve? If we wanted to use your image I think it would be only fair if we asked the authors permission?
I think stock blizzard imagery is fair game, but I would be a bit more cautious about using a fan creation without their knowledge.

Changed my banner to fit the new layout, you can see how it would look above. :)

Edit: I have saved it as a theme/skin to make it easy to incorporate, while also hoping that it might solve the red text issues. If someone else wins the banner competition just change the banner and presto, awesome.

Also, when it comes to artists and their works, most of the ones I've talked to usually don't mind their art being used for banner art; UNLESS it's used for profit in some manner. That is where copyright law comes in strong and actually is chargeable as a crime. This is at least what I've got told so far.

It kind of is free advertising. Even if the name of the artist isn't mentioned on the banner art, anyone curious can contact the board administrator and probably get the information, directly or indirectly.

Only annoying thing is that the scrolling is choppy for some reason, but that would probably be a very high-techy thing to fix.

If you're running Firefox, go into Tools > Settings > Advanced, and then uncheck "smooth scrolling" and then OK; or whatever that may be in the language you have the browser in.
That helped when I was experiencing similar things a while ago. If you already have it unchecked then I don't know what's causing it. :(

Accoriding to this layout 886pixels should be the correct width.

That's the width of the actual forum, not the body of the full layout. My new banner is 932px in width and it fit like a glove. :)

The again, the banner doesn't have to be added in the same manner as the theme's original picture, so as long as it's not above 932px it should look fine. ^_^

this thread will be locked this evening and i'll make a new post with all the submitted banners (bar Xari's i'm afraid) and a poll.
