As Borgrimm sat in The Blue Recluse sipping out of his pint of fine Ale his mind drifts off into the past...
…many years before Borgrimm was bought into exisitence by his loving parents, the Draenei back then known as Eredar lived on a planet known as Argus. Here they lived with there most provident leaders Kil'jaeden, Archimonde, and Velen. The Eredar were extremely intelligent and had a natural affinity for magic in all of its forms. While on this planet the three leaders were approached by Sargeras, the Fallen Titan. He promised to grant the Eredar with supreme power and knowledge, Kil’jaeden and Archimonde believed him and followed him with many Eredar with them. However Velen having been blessed with a vision from the Naaru saw the plans of Sargeras and managed to escape his grasp with only a few Eredar.
Velen and his followers with the blessing of the Naaru escaped on a vessel known as Oshu’gun, they renamed themselves Draenei or “Exiled ones” in the Eredun language. Kil’jaeden was of course furious with what he thought was Velen’s betrayal and vowed to hunt him down. Velen and the newly named Draenei were chased for thousands of years, while being chased they visited most of the known cosmos to try and find safe harbor, but still the Legion under the command of Kil’jaeden sought them out and kept coming.
Eventually the Draenei found refuge on a remote and peaceful world, it seemed the perfect place to settle, the Draenei named it Draenor or “Exiles’ Refuge”, here is where they slowly cultivated their dwindled numbers. Here is where Borgrimm was born!
As time passed the Draenei met and befriended the Shamanic orc clan that already populated the tranquil southern grasslands, which we now know as Nagrand. Apart from small trades the Draenei and orcs regarded each other with respect but kept mostly to themselves.
However no matter how hard Velen could try, Kil’jaeden eventually found them, and hunted them down. Upon finding the Draenei he saw the orcs and saw how much more they suited his plans, and went about corrupting the orcs. The orcs were turned from a state of wary acceptance into a race of blind rage and blood lust. Kil’jaeden commanded the orcs to attack the Draenei to wipe them from existence, this turned into a bloody war and lasted for nearly eight years. They slaughtered us like cattle thousands of Draenei lost their lives. Unfortunatly for Borgrimm he was still to young and inexperienced to be fighting in the front line, so was often used as a medic for wounded soldiers returning from the battlefield.
The orcs eventually over-powered the Draenei and destroyed the last attack the Draenei had, some Draenei were able to escape the battlefield and returned to Velen and the remaining younger Draenei. Unfortunately the Draenei who had been at war were all exposed to the orc warlocks fel energies, these Draenei mutated into lesser forms, this resulted in a series of subspecies.
Velen and the uncorrupted Draenei had to leave behind these corrupted Draenei and flee from Nagrand, they ran north into a swampland now known as Zangermarsh. Kil’jaeden thought that the fel energies from the corrupted warlocks had killed all the Draenei and didn’t seek them out.
Some time had passed, many fights and wars had been fought and won by the orcs, Velen and his people still hid in this swampland, hiding atop of large mushrooms so not to be discovered. Velen knew he had to escape but couldn’t see how it was possible, but the Naaru comforted him letting him know there was a plan awaiting.
Eventually Blood elves came to Draenor and found a power that no one knew of, the power of Tempest Keep. The blood elves successfully took over the keep and began there plan of draining the mana from it to increase their power. The Draenei knew that the Tempest Keep was the only way to escape, they came out of hiding and made their way to Netherstorm to take seige of the Keep. Velen and his followers were able to wrestle with the Blood elves and took control of one of the wings known as the Exodar, they tried to use this vessel to escape and find help so they were able to take control of their home planet. Before the Draenei were able to escape in the teleporting device Exodar the Blood elves managed to sabatage the vessel. As the Draenei tried to planeshift, the sabataged engine went haywire and the Exodar flew out of control crash-landing on a chain of isles called Azuremyst Isles, off the western coast of Kalimdor.
The surviving Draenei tried there best to salvage what they could from the Exodar and help the wounded Draenei, they began to explore this new world they had crashed into; contact with the night elves at this point was imminent! This is where Borgrimm’s training began.
Borgrimm still being young and only trained as a medic with little knowledge of combat sought out a trainer, he seeked for the best trainer he could find, and stumbled upon a Draenei not known to many as he was what the Draenei known as ‘Broken’ his name was Farseer Nobundo. Nobundo had been guided back before the Orcs were corrupted in training the shamanistic ways, learning from the Orcs and progressing in knowledge and power. Not many Draenei sought the training of Nobundo due to his ‘broken’ state. Borgrimm later was glad he found his trainer, he realised it was fate.
Borgrimm was sent on many tasks by Nobundo to learn the basics of combat in order to survive on more intense tasks. Eventually he had enough knowledge to leave the Azuremyst Isle, and was sent onto Kalimdor.
Emboldened by the thought of fighting back at Kil’jaeden, Borgrimm took a ship from the isle to Darkshore, Borgrimm stood to his full height, his strong and athletic frame bracing for the events to come. His thick tail shifted anxiously as he settled his weight evenly between both leonine legs and ground the toes of his hooves into the wooden floor of the ship. He took a deep breath, tightening his hands around the shaft of his Light-blessed hammer and stepped off the ship into his new adventure...
