PRP monologues

What I am about to say may annoy a few people, but I felt I had to get it off my chest.

I am getting really fed up with all this PRP in monologues. We have people and guilds like HoS and CoT "finding out" info from people's RP threads due to "operatives" when all that the RP threads have been about is a conversation between 2 people, or the thoughts of an individual. I can understand reporting on things that are made public, but either the security in all cities is so shoddy that the collective heads of security need to be sacked or we have god-like spies in our midst. I think Pilus summed it up best in a thread where he told Arch to go and find out for himself rather than metagaming his finding out info.

If we find out everything that people write in RP threads then everyone knows that Gurfang ate Emanee, Bazelle and a whole lot of Silverwing Night Elves. However, because he tends to do it on his own and in secret, all that is known in public is that Gurfang eats Elf meat. If people keep on this metagaming PRP crap then I can see people stopping writing RP threads because people are taking the piss. Certainly, all this "Xariandra is rather trivial" and "The Militia are fools who will never catch us" rubbish automatically turns me off reading any more of a thread.

Please, to the people that do all of this stuff:

Well the whole thing going on between SWM and the Cult goes quite flawlessly when it comes to the RP itself. It's of good quality usually and also things like finding out info are done realisticly. For example with infiltrations as high as the Council from the Cult's side it would be normal for us to find out a lot after the effort to spread so deeply into Stormwind

Anyhow, originally Archnazg had even more in his thread, but I talked to him on MSN and he cut back a major part.

It's not the quality of the RP that I'm fussed about though. I like to read something realistic (well, as realistic as fantasy RP can be!) when I read an RP story, not some monologue about how great some guy is and how much better they are than anyone else. I could write that sort of stuff all day if that's all it takes to do a good RP story.

Call me old fashioned (or just plain old!) but I'd like to be able to sit down and read a story from you or Arch and be able to read the whole thing without thinking that either one of you is acting like a self-publicist. Granted it happens from time to time, but I'd like to see it more often as I am sure I would enjoy the stories if I didn't get annoyed with them.

Agreed about the tiredness of reading stories that are basically a fight over RP-peen size.

You're acusing me of metagaming? You're actually so wrong there, mate. I do EVERYTHING in-character and in RP.

- I have never RP'd with you, nor you with us as far as I know.
- I have hardly spoken to you OOCly

How the hell can you draw any conclusion that I metagame? Go ahead and just get to fuck, please. Sorry for the bad language.
