| IC: *A towns crier is heard yelling* Hear ye. Hear ye.
The Stormwind Council heralds the new election for all council positions. Politicians and leaders from all races and guilds step forward and sign up as candidate for a councilor position. The election will take place 18th to 23th of May.
OOC: It is now one year since we launched the Stormwind Council with a realm wide election. In this year the council have evolved and become part of the alliance RP. It have served as a IC government and also arranged RP events ooc and aided in storylines. It is now time for the next election to the council.
So far the Council have been involved and contributed to many storylines. Of the more recent ones I can mention the conflict with the Salty Tide Privateers and negotiations with the Keepers of the Grove. On the more peaceful side there have also been some cultural events. The Council have also released the RP coin: the Dinarii, adding some economical RP.
Candidates With experiences from last term, we have chosen to change a few things in the way the elections are held. This time candidates will run for a specific position in the council. The councilor for one position will be the candidate with most votes among the candidates who ran for this position. If a councilor resigns before next election, the position will be given to the candidate with the second most votes. Furthermore the candidates may not be wanted for a crime or be a part of the Stormwind Militia.
An example: Player A and Player B both runs for being Councilor of Military. Player A gets 80 votes and player B gets 50 votes. That results in Player A being the councilor of military. After some months Player A stops playing wow or is, for some reason, not able to be councilor anymore, then Player B becomes councilor of Military.
Work of the council The work of the council involves IC and OOC leading and administration of events. It includes a weekly council meeting every Sunday night plus some self-controlled work depending on the position. Being a councilor gives possibility to put an impact on the RP and to bring creative ideas into reality. The council positions are not intended to be as guild representation. It is important that the councilors are able to be present at a weekly meeting and also put some ooc effort into the position.
The council consists of 6 positions:
Head Councilor: Responsible for the weekly meetings and for the council overall. Also handling feedback about the council.
Councilor of Trade and Resources: Arranging RP related to trade and securing resources. Responsible for economical and trade RP.
Councilor of Religion and Lore: Representing religions, responsible for the church and for arranging church ceremonies. Also responsible for history and lore related RP.
Councilor of Internal Affairs: The task of this councilor will be to arrange better integration and decide the conditions for the foreign races, as for the native citizens and the different standings. Will work as a diplomat, but then between the people of Stormwind and the council. Also responsible for cultural activities in the kingdom. The tasks can be encouraging and arranging cultural events, such as theaters, literature, fashion shows, etc. Keeping the morals high and the atmosphere in the Kingdom great. The councilor is also responsible for renting out properties.
Councilor of Military: Responsible for the defense of the kingdom against criminals and other enemies. This councillor is also responsible for expansion of the kingdom. This includes establishing and maintaining colonies. This will also include offensive war campaigns, etc. The majority of this function is defense, warfare and maintaining the borders, along with negotiating of course.
Councilor of Justice: This councilor shall take lead in forming of the Stormwind law. This councilor creates the law, but they shall be passed through the council. The councilor of justice also judge prisoners and determine their punishments.
Voting Anyone on the alliance side is allowed to give one vote for each position. You can vote by sending a ingame letter to the character named “Vote”. The letter should include the name of the candidate for each position that you want to vote for. It is not allowed to send votes before Monday the 25th 0:00 and till Saturday the 30th of may.
Time schedule Monday the 4th of may: Opening for signups for candidates. The candidates may start their campaigning at once. Friday the 22th of may 20.00: Deadline for signups as candidate. Monday the 25th of may 0:00: Opening for sending votes. Saturday the 30th of may 12:00: Deadline for sending votes. Saturday the 30th of may 20:00: The new councilors will be announced. Sunday the 31th of may 20:00: First Council meeting.
If you want to be a candidate, please post here in the thread with the following info: Name: Your character name Position: The position you are running for. Additional info: Short additional info such as policy, key issues, slogans etc (max 4 lines).
For any questions, feel free to leave a comment here or contact me or any councilor ingame. If I am not online then I can also be reached on pilus@pilus.info for any questions regarding the election.
I look forward to see how the next council term will go.

- Gladen and I are running for Vice-Councillor of Internal Affairs and Councillor of Internal Affairs respectively in 2009! As long-standing citizens of Stormwind, we feel that we understand your needs! Therefore, we shall be putting on art shows, fashion shows, dance nights, theatres, and most importantly of all, PUBS! Any pub (or, for that matter, anything that benefits the people) we feel is good will recieve a grant, and tax cuts! Which means CHEAPER DRINKS FOR EVERYONE! We are also skilled negotiators, and will therefore push our allies into a position that benefits YOU, the people of Stormwind! Whether it will benefit you in terms of better defense of our lands, more income for the citizens of Stormwind, or a variety of things, it can only be good for the marvellous citizens of this great city!
The choice is simple:
If you want this; Vote for us!
If you want Orcs at your door, having their way with your horses, stealing away your homes, and burning your women, vote for the opposition!
The Choice Is Clear! Sprin & Gladen '09!
