Shadowhoof was stood at the farm alone, bored out of his mind, he didn't plan on staying for much longer. What could the farmer do if he left early anyway, he had already paid Shadowhoof his fee up front.
Two nights earlier Shadowhoof had stumbled across the farm in the dark whilst looking for the blacksmith. He was supposed to pick up a cast for the counterfeit gold he was planning on producing but never made it, he would pick it up another time. Never one to miss out on an opportunity, he had crept into the farmhouse and killed the dog leaving a note saying "leave the farm or lose your life". Conveniently the next morning he returned to the farm offering his "security services". Naturally the farmer was suspicious but what choice did he have?
He had no warning about the impending attack on the farm. If he had known he was in a conflict hot spot he would have kept his nose out but Shadowhoof was not well known for his foresight and planning.
The gnome appeared from nowhere, thrusting a steely sharp dagger towards his back. Completely unaware of the gnomes presence Shadowhoof stood motionless watching the sun head towards the horizon. The dagger attracted the small balls of electricity which had been orbiting the shaman, shocking the gnome causing him to drop his weapon. In one swift action Shadowhoof drew his large wooden mace, spun around on the spot and struck the gnome cleanly on the side, launching him towards the farmhouse. He hit the solid wooden structure and dropped to the ground motionless.
He looked towards the gnome, "bonus" he said out loud. He would be able to butcher it and sell the meat on the black market. The last lot he had sold had been poorly butchered and he was only able to trade it for some weird powder, he was determined to do a better job with this one. But before he even reached for his skinning knife he was disturbed by a rumble, the rumble of a stampede.
A large group of well armed and angry looking humans, dwarfs and gnomes was charging towards the farm. Shadowhoof dropped a grounding totem and started to run, as he passed the farmhouse he saw the farmer leaving on horseback. "You set me up!" he yelled angrily, "You killed my dog" the farmer yelled back. The large cumbersome tauren shifted into the form of a wolf but the farmer still got away.
Shadowhoof returned to his Durotar base camp to consider his next move. If the farm was now alliance held how would he get his cast from the blacksmith? How would he get revenge on this farmer? The solution was clear, he would retake the farm for the horde, take his cast from the smithy and station one of his boys in the farm. When the farmer returned he would be taken to Shadowhoof for him to exact his own form of sweet revenge.
For this, he would need more of the boys!
