| (( http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=13525665193&sid=1 ))Guild Introduction: This is an extract of a Diary that was found in the Bandit's camps a few days after Sylvanas' campaign against the Varimathras' forces. Bitter love, it is the driving force that makes me raise and lower my foot with every step I take. It provides my momentum, my speed, to walk into battle.. For you my sweet Temperence.. She doesn't even know i exist in this world, and yet I would die for you. Jump in the way of any horror thrown at you. ..Bitter love. The rest of the extract is torn here, though the diary continues on the next page. Blackthorn isn't too happy as of late, he is restless. Muttering about something in the air, the wind is talking to him. Too much drink if you ask me. His routines are sloppy and he is leading us to our death, I can feel it, it won't be long till we're consumed by the wandering dead or what ever bunch of Kodo dung lurks in the old ruins. We are sitting ducks. Surrounded by great, ugly green brutes, with an accurate throwing arm, Gnolls barely a mile past the river. The river, hah! Slimey-weed covered filth.. This land is rotten and dying. I have come to the ends of the earth for you Temperence, though you are obsessed with one other man only, Blackthorn. P.J This is the last, reminder of the old Bandits who served under Blackthorn. Foolishly led to believe in a life of riches, of women, of drink.. That was before Sylvanas came. Those who remember, describe it as if the clouds had fallen from the sky and grown horrific faces, though most who do remember it - well, they end up dead within an hour of explaining the story. We are not allowed to remember.. we should forget everything from our old lives, but we cannot. We try and pull away, but we cannot, we are bound.. we are possessed. Guild Back History: It was a dark night and signs of rain were beginning to form in the sky, grey clouds sat floating in the sky with an aura of mystique about them. In a small little hide-away in a small valley within the Tirisfal Glades, sat around eight to nine white tents were no more than fifty men and women alike, next to the largest tent, tied to a stump was a single horse. A man, standing near the horse was laughing loudly, bottle of rum in one hand. "Bwhahaha.." Blackthorn laughed loudly, "Shut up and eat it, worm.. Prove your loyalty to me, Bwhahaha!" Blackthorn took another sip from his bottle and let out a rude and over exaggerated sigh of satisfaction guffawing at his latest victim. The sky overhead crackled with the sound of thunder, drips of rain began to fall. With hindsight, it seemed that the first strike of thunder was the signal. No one would've expected it... Sylvanas' forces rose like a great wave and crashed into Blackthorn's camp. Banshees like no one had ever seen before, flying on the grace of the wind, spewing into the valley, Sylvanas in the rear, ordering her troops. Lady Sylvanas: "These bandits will serve me well. Let's find their ringleader and steal his mind. You may as well surrender now, cretin. You'll be my slave one way or another." Blackthorn: "Never!" Screams were heard first; then the sound of running footsteps, then the harsh shrieks of the Banshees and then the silence. It was if the Thunder had felt the sudden change in dynamics and stunned by what had happened, speechless. Sylvanas' forces had moved in and simply possessed every living man and woman, binding them to the will of the Dark Lady. Blackthorn: "Lady Sylvanas is master here. We fight for her, brothers and sisters!" Lady Sylvanas: "Hmm... my own band of assassins. Intriguing." What followed next is blurry; the final result however, was that Lady Sylvanas managed to successfully bring the Dreadlord: Varimathras to his knees and beg... like a dog. (( http://www.wowwiki.com/The_Dark_Lady )) Present Day: Though Blackthorn has disappeared off the face of Azeroth, his men, now bound to the Dark Lady's will, still remain. They have taken his name as a reminder of the hardship they had to bear and the campaigns they fought. Though this time the Blackthorn Bandits have a new agenda. Under the leadership of Temperence Stephenson, the Blackthorne Bandits successfully migrated from Tirisfal Glades and the old Capital City ruins to the South where they now occupy Raven Hill. Carrying out the work of Sylvanas and yet retaining that bandit essence they inherited from their old leader, Blackthorn. The Blackthorn Bandits are Recruiting! We are a serious role-playing guild on Scarshield Legion based in Raven Hill and Duskwood and part of the Darkshire RP-Project (Soon to be the Raven Hill RP-Project). We are not your average, Bandit RP guild however due to the Dark Lady twist. Our affiliation is unusual but when it comes down to it, we could be part of the Forsaken, yet retaining our human selves due to the possession. We are only recruiting Humans and Dwarves. We offer a weekly event/guild meeting on either a Wednesday or a Thursday. Guild Plots: - Attempt to establish Raven Hill as Blackthorn Territory and get a stable RP-Project up and running! - Try to make Alliances with Forsaken Factions - Overthrow Darkshire of its Council, Men and Women and claim it as new Sylvanas/Blackthorn Territory. Guild Sub Plots: None, yet! If you're interested in applying then don't hesitate to contact Temperence in-game! [ Post edited by Minniwynn ] | |

| Some speculations say that the Deathstalkers might have been priorly Blackthorn Bandits, however this is not confirmed by Blizzard and even if it sounds plausible that there are survivors who roam free.
The matter might be why they are in Duskwood if loyal to Sylvanas if ya ask me, I would see them more as Bandits in that case more or less 'claiming' to be loyal to the Queen but state so only officially, in truth being outlaws running wild.

| That can be justified simply as; they are humans and practical reasons they can't be in horde territory due to game mechanics. I would've liked to put them in Silverpine but its just unrealistic on a small populated server to spread it out. I will extend the recruitment with a justified and indepth discussion of why we migrated but at the mo' I'll leave it as "we migrated". It could be argued that they were commanded too but thats such a cop-out. Edit: I saw an opening, exploited it. Blizzard did not decide the fate of these bandits allowing room for me to come in and expand. Could this be seen as godemoting or what have you, or unique? http://www.wowwiki.com/Blackthorn read the fifth line of that article. | |

| His current fate and that of his bandits is unknown as he does not appear in World of Warcraft.
Is that what your talking about? It clearly gives you space, however in case Blizzard decide to introduce them at some point maybe you can come to the conclussion that the Blackthorn Bandits present in Duskwood are just a small force, not to mention that as you will recruit you will gather characters who later joined the bandits, as in not original ones from the Third War but newly recruited.
Taking these things in consideration I doubt you got anything to fear about someone mocking it as 'godemoting'.

| You bring up a good point but I will just make an internal group of core Roleplayers who have 'been true blackthorns' and those who are 'meat shields' it'll all be good. Oh if Blizzard introduce lore around Blackthorn and his men I will drop this guild faster than you can "whosawhazza". Edit: Your point about it possibly being a small group of the Bandits and not the entire team sounds more reasoned than the whole group migrating to Duskwood. For the record: The idea was trying to score a Bandit guild with a twist and the twist was potential horde connections, if you get what I mean, so I knew there would be issues. Ty Shadow for pointing out. Got any more suggestions before we go live? | |

| Well, except good luck and wish to hear more of it in the future I dont know what else I could possible add.
I understand the OOC reason for it being in Duskwood, naturally having a opposing force is working very well for any type of Role Play, I myself am doing it and enjoy it in the process of story telling. The bandits could get bit more character maybe then just the steryotypicall 'outlaw bad dude' image, of course we are not familiar in what direction it goes and as you mentioned you try to give it a slightly different approach but as we pirates use to say, once a bandit always a bandit!
However, keep me updated since once: The SSD can have some more faces on the Wanted List.
Ah and -if- Blizzard introduces the Blackthorn Bandits you should not remove any events from the history of the realm. This is called realm history and realm lore, it varies from realm to realm and usually does not affect the official timeline but adds twist to the Role Play we as players experience, keep it the way it is you shouldn't worry about anything like this.

| I just read this, and I must say I think it is an absolutely ace idea for a guild concept. Good luck with it. | |
