| Yesterday I got a mail from "WoWaccountreviewEU@blizzard.com" with the subject "World of Warcraft - Account Confirmation". This got me suspicious, but I checked it nonetheless.. - Quote :
- Greetings,
An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account in question is being sold or traded. As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with Blizzard's EULA under section 4 Paragraph B which can be found here:
WoW -> Legal -> End User License Agreement
and Section 8 of the Terms of Use found here:
WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use
The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the action to be taken against your account. If your account is found violating the EULA and Terms of Use, your account can, and will be suspended/closed/or terminated. In order to keep this from occurring, you should immediately verify that you are the original owner of the account.
To verify your identity please visit the following webpage:
https://eu.battle.net/login/login.xml?ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wow-europe.com%2Faccount%2F&app=wam
Only Account Administration will be able to assist with account retrieval issues. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.
Sincerely,
Account Administration Blizzard Entertainment So, tricky business is that the url is to an entire different site. Check it out, but don't give them your account information. Sneaky bastards, aren't they?

| these e-mails do seem to be doing the rounds at the moment. Please, everybody be extra careful. Remember that Bliz -never- asks you for your account details! too many people have fallen foul of these buggers already | |

| I also recieved this mail... on a totally different e-mail adress than the one I gave to Blizzard when creating my account! Fortunately, this made me suspicious about the whole thing. The only place they could recieve this e-mail adress is either the HoZ forums, or WeAreLegion. Someone is searching the forums, most likely, hunting for e-mail adresses of WoW players, so watch out! | |

| That's very clever. I just clicked the link to see what it shows and the only thing that shows it is not Blizz (apart from the actual address of the page) is that they use / instead of "or" in the text above where you're supposed to put your account name or e-mail address. |

| Anything asking for your user details = FAKE
If they ban you, they just do it ingame and you get notice when you try to log in. It is then up to you to contact them and dispute it.

| If you are serious Drakonis then I advise you to use the password change function now.
It will send a new password to the email address registered with the account.

| Always fake. Always. If there's anything they want us to know, they will put it on the website, or the news box in the login window. | |

| Sigh. If ever you're unsure, simply ring Blizzard up. They have customer service people who will be able to confirm if you're about to be banned / have been accused of gold trading / need to change your password.
(SPOILER ALERT: You haven't / you haven't / you don't)
It really is that simple. Give them a ring. Talk to a real person. Happy days.

| It's obviously fake again... I got it on my e-mail address that Blizzard has no access to. And, it's in the terms of use: "A Blizzard employee will never ask your account name or password". So they don't. | |

| yeah i saw that gamecard generator scam on youtube... apparently some people are dumb enough to send a Valid and unused gamecard code to some shady mail adress and actually expect a reply with more valid codes though i've never received this kind of mails i do get somewhat paranoic about my account getting hacked/keylogged... recently i've installed all sorts of security and addblock plugins on firefox and renewed my antivirus and firewall settings... i might get that blizz account authenticathor one of these days! check this thread for account security, if you haven't already Blizzard Support |
