Anyways, I wonder what the specific reasons people have for saying ERP is so bad. "It's sad" doesn't really cut it as an argument imo.

For me it's not that it's bad (though I do think that most of the ERP that exists on the realm is purely for spotty teenagers who have few to no friends outside of WoW and know no females outside their immediate family) but the hypocrisy shown here.

People in perfectly happy relationships where the sex is good still wank off on their own, they still watch porn and some still ERP. It's not a substitute for sex, (though for some it may be and -that- can arguably be classified as sad) but just a different way to entertain your own sexuality, remember the brain is the biggest sexual organ we have and alternative sexual stimulation of this organ should not be so quickly condemned is my opinion.

People give too much importance to ERP, it sucks, I mean at least google for real pr0n and thats it.

Why?

because cybor is simply in game porn and entirely for the sexual gratification of the players* ( and is usually done in public and inapproproate places) whereas ERP often involves a sex scene played out between the characters for the development of their relationship (usually carried out in private).

Just as a sex scene in a book/ play/ film does not consitute porn, so ERP does not constitute cybor.

*yes there are better ways for ppl to get their kicks but if this is what does for them, so be it

Actual ERP (read: not camouflaged Cybersex) is just as sad as RP. Normally, ERP is just that extra part of RP - to give a character that extra depth by adding and acting on the subject of sex. When I had the time back in the days, I did ERP as a part of my character's personality. What did he/she like in bed, how did he/she react to certain things that may or may not happen in the chambers, and so on. It does take a lot of time - if done right and with quality in mind - just like RP. And... just like RP, one can sometimes simply not have the time to get into the grits of things and then just keep it to the more casual parts of ERP, i.e. heavy flirting/suggesting, deep kissing and caressing. It's erotic, period... what's erotic is also personal of course, but there you have it.

Anyone that is of a different opinion just can't separate something erotic and sex, and that is a pure example of something sad. By "this opinion" I mean the opinion of ERP not being a sad thing, or lack of RL sex, or relationship problems... or cybersex in disguise. It just isn't.

Everyone has his own likes and dislikes, under some circumstances I could imagine this to be entertaining and interesting.

ok first.. I'm NOT into cybor, and will probably never do so unless there's a very hot chick in a foreign country behind a screen with an MSNscreen with my name in it open. xD Just to make it clear..

But for what I understood, it seems some ERPers / cyborers just like it as an alternative for porn / wanking / whatever, as it's like internetporn.. but then with more imagination and often a story around it, maybe in some way romantic?
Ofcourse there is a huge difference btween what I just typed above and people purely wanking over the pixels, instead of the people behind the toon or the whole vibe with the stories and imagination.. and purely wanking on the nightelfpixels or so is just very bad.

And again.. this is what I understood of some people that do.. stuff.. on WoW, without me ever being a part of it in any way! And a possible explanation that'd I'd find logical for someone to do "pathethic stuff like that" altough I'd rather pass on it.

Lol, thing is, this really wasn't me doing it, you can ask Tipsy. My account was hijacked by Clinzin for a day after having asked me to borrow my account to talk to a friend quickly (I used to be good friends with him, I highly suspect Miriya let him do this).

It isn't an excuse, it's true :p Either way I don't care, the only reason I laugh at the Covenant for being ERPers is because it gets to them And well, they are a bunch of freaks.

Well it's because Clinzin lent his account a lot to me in the past. Anyway, it's kinda impossible to have your account permanently stolen or stuff permanently deleted if your acc info and stuff is ok, so I'm not really too afraid to lend my account to good friends. I didn't think Clinzin was stupid enough to blow a good friendship for another friend like this, thinking it would do anything to me in the long run.. I lost a day of play, I got EXTRA gold back from the GM's, and he's got a few sad screenies.. uh.. okay

I find it especially funny how I let people resort to such desperate and time-consuming methods by simple one-liners and sarcastic remarks, it's like a gift!
