[RP-story] The neverending (part 2) Empty
PostSubject: [RP-story] The neverending (part 2)   [RP-story] The neverending (part 2) EmptyMon May 26, 2008 8:03 am

Everyone from town was sitting around the table. It was the birthday of the oldest citizen of the town, so it was a special event, and the women had prepared the most delicious treats and meals. Turkey, roasted boar, spiced vulture ribs, murloc soup,… all could be found on the big table. At the top of the table the man who turned 68 years today, which is very old for a human with an average life, was sitting. He was named Bandir Garthon. He was wearing quite dirty, yet fine looking red lined yellow robes. He had a red hood which he’d never take off, and always had a staff with some kind of orb attached to the top. Nobody in the town knew what purpose this orb served, even though eventually it would play a very important, and dangerous role.

The little Xariandra was sitting on a bit higher chair next to her brother, both nibbling on some ribs. Xariandra had completely black hair reaching to just under her neck, and dark brown eyes. Merzel also had the exact same colour of eyes and hair, his hair was short. Both seemed at equal age, and were also equally tall. A very cute brother and sister, attached to each other. Their father was sitting next to Xariandra, someone named Aldonius. He had black hair and black eyes, and always wore robes as well. People in town whispered about him, rumours went around he had a dark past, which he’d never talk about. He knew his ways with the Arcane, but never used it for any kind of destruction, even more, he seemed obsessed with keeping away any form of offense by the use of magic. He seemed to be the only other one in town who knew about the mysterious orb, but also never talked about that either.

A drunk man fell off his chair and his pint of booze spilled all over his clothes but he just stayed down and fell asleep. It was a real party and everyone enjoyed theirselves, until late. But then, when the clock of Strahnbrad louded twelve times for midnight, both Bandir and Aldonius felt something, a shiver going down their spine, and they looked at each other. Aldonius only gave a slight nod and they continued with the party. Aldonius noticed his wife giving him a suspicious look, seemingly knowing what he felt, but he quickly turned to Merzel with his pint to create distraction, put up a smirk, and asked

"Don't you think it's time you become a real man?"

Merzel didn't hestitate and took a big sip from it, but immediatly spit it out on his fathers robes.

"Eugh! That's horrible! Is that what everyone always makes such a big fuss about?!"

He heard his sister giggling at him and quietly muttered to himself. Aldonius first looked a bit annoyed but then let out a heartly chuckle and gave his son a gentle pat.

"You'll learn to appreciate the value of fresh tasty booze!"

The party was over. Women were cleaning up, men afterpartying a bit on random spots, childeren being sent to bed. Aldonius and Bandir were in a dark corner of the town, seemingly nervous, talking. Xariandra spotted them and slowly sneaked to them, knowing her dad would be mad if he saw her listening. She looked at her father's face as he spoke.

"Yes... I felt it... It seems we shall never be left alone. The orb has been targetted again for abuse in the future. We must find out what is going on!"

"Calm, Aldonius, calm.. it would be yet another attempt, but so far we were able to vanquish them all, and I am sure we will do so again."

A warm smile appeared on his face, he didn't seem worried at all. Aldonius on the other hand was very nervous, as if he had a better sense of what was coming.

"But this time... the warning... the sense of magic was so strong! As if it's impossible to stop! As if the threat is coming out of our... very own bloodline!"

Xariandra shaked a few times, and looked around her, worried. She felt fear for some reason, and stepped towards her father, shivering.

"Daddy... I just felt something weird..."
