PostSubject: A letter to the Warsong Blades - by Nimarae   A letter to the Warsong Blades - by Nimarae EmptyTue Jan 12, 2010 6:01 pm

((copied from http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=12227592894&sid=1 - Vyp))

Silence lay as a veil of muteness over the panorama of an elderly lady, sat behind an overly littered desk, scattered with a disorderly accumulation of scrolls, shards, candles and magical items alike. A distinguished staff stood rested against the cushioned seat the aged elf sat on, readily awaiting to support her silent footsteps to her quarters would she decide the long day of politics and tactical meetings had finally come to an end.

The Ambassador rubbed her temples wearily, not looking up from the parchment her elderly eyes were darting over, reaching a hand out of her long sleeve. She feebly twitched a finger, and her lips were merely visited by a notion of relief as a beautifully adorned golden goblet on her desk filled with deep crimson, hot-spiced wine from a carafe.

Shadows grew longer as a drawn map of Ashenvale was thoroughly studied, a gloved finger trudging a path through Ashenvale, setting towards Darkshore, finalizing it’s trail in Auberdine.

The Ambassador smiled as she pressed her fingertip firmly on the drawn kaldorei port town. Yes, there was much to conquer. Much to gain.
A mussitated word of old and her hand opened again, no longer empty, yet filled with a beautiful golden phoenixfeather quill, she then swiftly sank in the deep crimson ink in the ink pot on her desk.

She leaned her elderly body over a light pink, Blood-thistle scented scroll, and started writing...

To the General Katalmach,
Lok'tar ogar.

I hope that this letter has found you in good health and fortune. On the behalf of the Everlasting Sun, I would like to sincerely thank you for the hospitality you presented us with during our stay in the Warsong Hold, your generosity will not be soon forgotten.

It was truly unfortunate that we were not able to formally consolidate the necessary agreements required for the conquest of the Ashenvale Forests; however, we have discussed your proposals and we deeply regret that we will not be able to concede with them.

We feel that it would be best if our forces who are to be sent to the forests of Kalimdor to be under the command of the blood elves and not your courageous and hardened people. You need not worry about the capability and efficiency of our much able soldiers, who have decades worth of training to account for. Indeed, the elves of Quel'Thalas hold thanks to the glorious Sunwell for our prolonged lives.

If our forces were to be under the command of our own captains, then assured victory will most certainly await us in Auberdine, where the proficient elven swordmanship and the powerful sorcery of our magisters will prevail agaisnt the parasitic night elves, who have nourished a great hatred and deep contempt for our people towards them.

Undoubtedly, the vermin-like kaldorei have sought the demise of our glorious Sunwell and the sacrilege of the tranquil glades of Quel'Thalas. Their traitorous and cowardly attempts to bring our end have not passed by unremembered, and so our soldiers have been brewing up a pointy reckoning for the rodents of Kalimdor: the night elves! It is evidently plain to understand that our people have more than enough reason to wish to exterminate this cancer of Azeroth.

Furthermore, the abundance of knowledge and talent that we posses will most surely aid in the conquest of the Ashenvale Forests, especially if we were to acquire a means of travelling across the sea which we will soon obtain by the grace of the Sun.

To conclude, we wish to see much prosperity to blossom forth from the alliance between our two peoples; we sincerely hope that you will see the reasoning behind our wishes concerning this great alliance and the insured conquest of the forests of Kalimdor.

Yours faithfully,
On behalf of the Everlasting Sun,

Ambassador Blacksun.

May your days remain as fair and fine as the Sun which shines above us.

(( IC reply from Szilszal < Keepers of the Grove > ))

Soft wind was blowing in the gloomy Forest Song, asking up the falling leaves for a dance. Some birds were singing quietly hidden withing the foliage. Everything was peaceful, but the Kaldorei sitting on a whitish, stone ruin knew it was only temporarely. Her faintly glowing eyes were gazing far into the distance over seas and mountains, imagening the gathering horde forces soon ready to strike down on a distant town.

She sighed deeply thinking of that they only gained a little time until some reinforcement truely would take their way to Ashenvale. As she was waiting, she could only hope that the old One - a wise shaman aiding her with information by contacting the spirits - could serve once again with good news about the horde's moves. But it was all just matter of a time. She knew, even if not admittedly that if a larger force came, the few that still remaind wouldn't have much chance.

Too many have left to rather fight the forces of the Lich King on the north, leaving behind their roots and one true home defensless...

~By Hanalti

Hanalti stands on a small island in the river between Duskwood, Elwynn Forest and Westfall. The water around her travelled all over Azeroth and reached this island with dire news from the depths. The earth beneath her hooves tremors to tell the coming horror. The wind cries, whispers, roars, moans and echoes its warnings.
She hears the warnings. She sees the signs. But out of that island she powerless. She can only hope that there are some wise among the fools or the world will drown in chaos.

The shores of Azshara..

She felt the salty sea-water running beneath her hooves and darkgreen seaweed was surrounding the rock she stood on. A perfect place to train her skills and to get in contact with the spirits of the sea. She saw a huge wave coming towards her.. closer and closer.. When it almost hit her, she made some strange gestures with her arms and the salty wave was splitting infront of her. She bended the water into several small orbs and played some with them. Water was hér element..

The calm.. deep blue waters of the sea.. it was different.. the sea was upset.. the spirits of the earth and sea were upset.. Something was wrong..
She focussed, started walking on the water and followed the whispers she heard... they were leading her towards Ashenvale, the Kal'dorei lands.. As soon as she became near the Warsong section, she felt the energy slowly fading away from her.. the earth was poisoned.. ruined..
Something bad had happened, and she knew it.

~ By Aghandor

'Twas somewhere in the evening. Late, probably, if the diminished guard patrols were any indication.

But it was never late for one elf, not if there were things that could be set on fire. In fact, the Night was the best time to work on new, complicated mechanisms, he knew. Little to disturb you.

So there he sat, on a stool, behind a workbench, piecing together yet another infernal mechanism with delicate tools. It did not take him long to finish what he had already started, it seems, as he got up from his stool, and reached for a small jar, filled with a viscous black liquid, which he then poured into the mechanism, before closing it. Removing his safety goggles, Aghandor Darkwind nodded, satisfied with himself, then grabbed the new grenade, and walked off, only taking the time to take his preciously guarded notes with him.

Farstrider Square, 15 minutes later.

Farstrider Square was empty, quiet. No longer were the clangs of swords or the whistling of air of flying arrows heard. The rows of wooden training dummies stood ready to take their next beating as soon as the Dawn came, some already batted, some relatively new. The silhouette of an elf drew near in the badly lit streets, and it strode near to the most battered of dummies, one that would soon be replaced. Then, suddenly, it aimed a throw, and the device could be seen flying through the air at the dummy. As soon as it hit, a soft "Pfwoomph" could be heard, as the devive seemed to collapse, and send the viscous black liquid flying all over the dummy and onto the floor, catching fire as it flew through the air.

Moments later, all that was left of the dummy were smoldering ashes, glowing softly but brightly enough to shed flickering light on the insane grin of the elf.

"Oh, I'm sure Graan would love to see this."

A loud bash echoed through the dark feasting hall as the letter was slammed on the table deep within Kargathia keep, the grunt delivering the note pounds his chest with a fist and salutes Elder Nazrug. The old Shaman looks up at the orc from within the dim candle light, still chewing the tough flesh of a wild boar caught and roasted that evening. Nazrug sniffs the air, the scent coming from the note unfamiliar. The smell of civilization and a foreign culture tainted the air.
He eyes the note, without touching it, his teeth crack down on the bone of the boar thigh, his eyes glance from word to word...

“...Lok’tar Ogar...”
Nazrug snorts with genuine amusement.

“...You need not worry about the capability and efficiency of our much able soldiers, who have decades worth of training to account for...”

Nazrug sat in silence as he chewed the last bit of flesh from the boar leg, tossing the bone into the corner of the room. The two Worgs on guard leaped after the bone, growling at each other ferociously before one backed down and the other carried his prize off into the shadows, the low crack of canine tooth on bone echoed through the hall.

He had to admit that these elves had spirit, a race that he believed to be cowards were quickly proving to be otherwise. Too many words and too little ferocity was his only concern, when the battle turned ill, would they stand as strong and tall as they claimed to be now. When their pretty little bodies lay broken on the field of battle, would their comrades still find the strength to cleave at their foes? Nazrug hoped that he would not be disappointed.

Luckily the arrogance of the elves was also their weakness, and like any predator, Nazrug could smell out weakness. A smirk spread across his face as he stood up and moved to the centre of the room. The Grunt’s eyes followed him in the dim evening light.

“Send me a courier, let us invite these children of the sun to our war council. I am interested at how well they will do, prancing through my forests on their own.”

The grunt salutes again and turns on his heal, he leaves the hall, the sound of cracking bone following him far into the keep.

~By Nimarae

The luxurious streets filled with sounds of plate on marble as the Blood Knights marched ever vigilantly through the glorious Silvermoon. Sun was setting and shadows were growing long; the streets hummed softly with the activity of salesmen packing their merchandise back onto their wagons and peasants haggling to get the remaining goods with a fair discount.

Near the Sunfury Spire, a small gathering of Magisters was studying and discussing spellwork, exchanging reagents. Their beautiful robes flowing softly in the early summer breeze as their lips mussitated silver-tongued incantations in a ritual of sorcerous grandeur.

Yes, the panorama of Quel'Thalas was not different than usual; beauty dominated Silvermoon City as always, its commoners followed the footsteps of the established policy acquiescent, and the battle-ready sin'dorei units trained ever assiduous to maintain the true mastery of their skills.

It was history that made the sin'dorei relentless and merciless where it came to defending their superior blood, and they needed not prepare for the asault.

They were always at the zenith of readiness. History has made it so.
