Haha! And that's how merpeople are born...

Indeed, and at the same time, interpretive Jazz. If you ever saw the kind of outfits he wore, it might also explain some of the flamboyancy in the seas. I imagine Ursula blissing out to some of his Jazz discharge.

Maybe you can blame the seamen for that lot of flamboyancy...

Perhaps, and let's be fair here. They reckon the dugong was what created the myth of mermaids... Have you -seen- a dugong!? Seriously: If sailors saw one of them, and the image in their heads was that of a beautiful fish-maiden, one fears what strange hybrid creatures lurk below.

Dugongs aren't exactly human-sized either...

Maybe if you squint, have cataracts, are absolutely pissed, and upside down... Maybe then it might... Nahh!

This whole discussion made me think of a statue I've seen in Stockholm:

Look at this mer-couple.
The woman has long hair, large breasts, slender body, fishtail - exactly the traditional mermaid.
The man, on the other hand, is bald, fat, has very thick arms and a very evil grin with shark-teeth - perhaps a marine version of Opathu Two-Smile?

Looks like Captain Pugwash. Him, the Mitchell brothers, and/or Nick Griffin. Though those combined are probably one of the scariest images imaginable.

You'd not want to know the latter, and the Mitchell brothers are characters form the somewhat risible soap 'Eastenders'. Captain Pugwash was an old cartoon series with basic animation and human mouths super-imposed upon them. Various people claim that the ship was manned by dodgy named pirates, such as 'Seaman Stains', 'Master Bates', etc. Needless to say, the creators deny such silly things. It was relaunched recently, and one imagines that if the old version -did- have such names, the newer version's sanitised. Alternatively, you could Wiki them... Though I suggest that blind ignorance is the way to go with this Razz

You're more than welcome, Julie /bow

I imagine something akin to Cthulhu on a bad day. Which ironically is probably what the lovechild of a human and dugong looks like.

And here's Cthulhu on a really bad day:

I mean, being grabbed by a giant human, that's really uncomfortable for an Old God, isn't it?

(The sculpture was made by Ryleen, it's a lovely piece of art IMO)

I know it's Malin's, as I've seen it before. Truth be told, I'd rather have any type of Cthulhu come up to me in Essex if it meant escaping the denizens of this horrid place. Yes, even if the alternative drove me mad Razz... Wait... Has driven me mad...

Random disturbing image: "that is the King of vaginal rejuvenation"... Not a line I expected to hear tonight.

When I saw that Family Guy episode I laughed so hard my lungs hurt.

I absolutely love that show.

A wall of text when a thread's this derailed is not worth the hassle Razz. I'm perfectly happy to see this train go flying off the cliff, accompanied by wierd music and over-the-top explosions.
