Hey guys,

For anyone who has been on LFRP or is with the Unseelies, you will know of my trip to Cyprus.. Well, in this thread i wish to detail how SHIT air travel is..

Alright, so after ZERO hours sleep last night arrived at the airport, checked in, all three bags are "Heavy" so we have to pay out our arses..

We finally get to security and I get frisked, now for those who know of my.. Inclinations.. Being frisked by a big manly security guard sounds like fun, well, it isn't.

Next we got through to departures, which, in Newcastle Airport is like a convention hall.. Everything feels temporary, as if it will soon be removed in leui of some Toothpaste and Oral Hygene Seminar.. Breakfast was fun, managed to.. Aquire.. Access to a WiFi network, shameful really that they would charge for this kind of service.. Then, when I finally decided to eat something, after standing in line and using my natural charms on the delightful "Serving Gal'" all for the purpose of more beans (No shit, ladelling it out with an eggcup sized.. ladel!). Lets take a look at the pricing on that:

Two slices of Toast
Two Hash Browns
Two Sausages
Two Beans
--------------------
NINE POUNDS NINETY FUCKING FIVE!

Anyway, i shall be keeping you updated on how the travel goes.. And maybe make a few updates over the fortnight..

That's right.. WoW is more important than my holiday!

*****UPDATE: 19th Juli 2009 23:20-ish*****

Arrived at the hotel, met up with friends who have been here for a week already.. Had a shitty meal.. Got drunk on Brandy Sours..

As for today, sat having a drink after paying 10 euros for the internet.. (On that note, anyone who knows how to bypass WiPlus protection.. WINK). Won't spend much time on WoW, too hot and the connection is shi-ite..

Also, interesting fact.. Being 16 and getting served for ANYTHING and on top of that.. GETTING A TAB! (Parents room number of course *Straightens non-existant tie*)

So how is SSL? Have i missed anything fun on /Unseelie or /LFRP..?

Also, for some reason the bar i am sat in is playing Good Charlotte.. None stop..

Things to do by the end of the week:

Try an "Ammos" (The hotel's in-house shot, Vodka, Sambuca, Absinthe)
Find hot guys..
Try to rent a car
Rent a bike and go into the capital
Make time for WoW
Make it to the Unseelie Treasure Hunt

Air travel is stupidly over priced, security nasty and just mean.

I'm off on a multi-stop journey on Saturday with a mix of excitement and dread >.<

Shame. Dublin airport is actually really good as far as food and pricing is concerned :X

Whilst having no idea of your "inclinations", I'd always be tempted to go excessively camp (for those that saw Krod Mandoon, think Bruce) and offer to drop my trousers and ask for a full cavity search. The possible flustering of what is most likely a very heterosexual male would be hilarious!

They are so damn stiff upper lip at most places it would just be horrible.

The only exception I've found is Liverpool Airport- when I went through the security they got really excited about my tattoo and I spent about 30 min chatting to them about it.

Not always best to try games with airport security, depending where you are.

First time I went to the US with work I filled in the visa waiver wrong and the guy behind the desk at US immigration control actually threw the paperwork at me then sent me to the back of the queue to correct it like a naughty boy.

Even better was what happened to my boss, when he travelled to the US not long after sept 11. One of the questions they asked you when you arrived was the full address of where you were staying. Ofc with the business most of this gets taken care of, so once you arrive there is transport arranged for you etc and you don't need the details. So he couldn't give them the full street address, only that it was the Crowne Plaza in Foster City. My boss also has a penchant for inappropriate humour (he's German) and tried to make light of the situation. As a result he was detained for 3 hours by security in an interview room.

Yeah, Airport Security don't take jokes too well when they are at work.

If I were Zippy they would actually zip and padlock my mouth every time I went through there....

As I travelled back from the jungle in Costa Rica, we had (of course) to stop in NY, with all the joys of the American Border Security of America (TM). In the jungle, we had been drinking unpurified water from a spring, which looked pretty shitty, tasted fun but was completly harmless (I think). I had somehow slipped through the Costa Rican security with a 1.5L bottle of grimy water. The hightly trained american security spotted it immidiatly, with the "Please, mister, we'd like to look in your bag".
I really enjoyed the look on the *very* american 20-yr old female security guard that nervously picked up the bottle and asked in a small voice: "What is this?" and almost seemed to faint then I answered "Drinking water."

Best Airport Security (and Gemma idiot) moment was in America. We were picking up baggage in Minneapolis for our connection when me and my friend got collared by a couple of feds asking us if why we were in America, etc. etc.

When I corrected my friend on her age (she said 21 when she was 22), they seperated us. I got the guy with the best monobrow ever, who was asking me if I ever did narcotics. In my british and language uselessness I said no. He then asked if I'd done cannabis- to which I replied yes. He then pointed out that *was* a narcotic and how he could test me etc etc etc. Cue much british apologising >.<
