Short story-Large Negotations Empty
PostSubject: Short story-Large Negotations   Short story-Large Negotations EmptyMon Aug 10, 2009 8:01 pm

The rain poured and the thunder rumbled. Lightning sliced the dark sky.

Lamost shrugged his shoulders and he walked looking down at his feet as they sank into the ground. It squelched and bubbled as he slid his way along the path. The thunder bellowed as Lamost approached the small cottage. He reached the small gate and he vaulted over it. His dark purple cloak flowed behind him like a shadow.

He went up to the windows and peered through the windows. The candles were out. He saw a small table with 2 mugs left out on it. The two wooden stools were scratched and worn. Cobwebs riddles the corners of the room like a thick gauze. Lamost clasped the rusty doorhandle and slowly turned it. He tried pushing it but it was locked.

"Always worth a try." He sighed.

He pulled out a long thin silver object it almost looked like a knife but was rounded at the end. He slid it slowly into the door and twisted it quickly with force, an unhealthy churn of grinding metal resonated from the lock but the door was open. Lamost slipped in easing the door shut.

He hung his cloak up. He surveyed the room it was nothing more than the small square used for greeting the guests, with nothing in it apart from the hook for the cloaks. He was inside the house now he made sure he made no noise. He first gazed at the floor and he was thankful it was stone. Stone didn't creak and if it didn't creak He could walk around with more ease. He went into the next room and felt the candle wick.

"Still warm." He breathed.

At this moment His eyes flicked left. In the doorway to his left a huge hulk of a man stood there. Easily 6foot and 8inches tall. He leant his neck awkwardly to look through the doorway of which he was too tall. Lamost froze. He tried to look into the mans eyes but he couldn't see them in the dark.

"What the fuck are you doin?" The man bellowed.

"I've been sent," Lamost said aloud "to kill you."

The man laughed. "You eh?" I could crush you. Rakelien couldn't find anyone else to clear up his unpaid debts?" He laughed again. "Tell him i aint payin."

"Well that's the reason i'm here." Lamost said sinisterly. "Rakelien hired me because i'm the best and you gotta be in this business."

"I'm better!" The man roared as he charged at Lamost and he hurled himself at Lamost and they both crashed through the flimsy table.

The man arose his wide figure leant over Lamost. He grabbed the elf and hurled him out the window.

Lamost slid along the wet grass and was badly winded he opened his mouth his throat clawing for air. The door to the cottage flew open the man stepped out and looked over to Lamost, he was now wielding a large mace.

Lamost had arose to his feet and his was covered in mud and he pulled out his daggers. The floor was wet so each placed their feet cautiously. The kept moving in a circle just eyeing each other up.

The man through his mace back through his window into the cottage.

"Man to man"

Lamost considered the prospect he could take this chance kill the man and walk away or he could accept the challenge and best the man in a fight of skill and strength.Being arrogant Lamost liked the idea of beating the man and knowing it was just him and not the steel he wielded. He span his daggers in his hand while he weighed up his options. He spat on the floor and tossed his daggers over towards the door.

The man charge at Lamost but he was ready he dive to his left and rolled away the man attempted to stop but he continued to slide and slipped falling on his back, Lamost tried to capitalise and went over and punched the man square in the face. The man grunted and grabbed Lamosts shirt and pulled him over his chest he got up and was holding Lamost like he was holding a log. Helpless Lamost was subject to a large toss into the cottage wall. In a stupor Lamost propped himself up with his elbow and the man came with a huge blow to Lamost's face. His face swelled immediately and he was dazed but he crawled away and got his feet. He spat and he could feel bits of teeth coming out with it.

Lamost gave a fake left hook and the ran raised his right arm but Lamost swung with his right fully and caught the man in the cheek, the man span and fell to one knee. He stood up fully on one leg but the other was propped up against the floor. Lamost lifted his leg and stomped down and the mans knee. It broke the mans shin was parallel to the ground. He roared in pain. Lamost sighed a sigh of relief as he knew he had won.

The man was immobile he couldn't stand. Lamost kicked him in the ribs. He rolled over onto his back he looked up at Lamost as his eyes squinted as the rain fell on his face. Lamost raised his foot and forced his heel as hard as he could into the mans face. His nose broke and his two front teeth fell into his mouth. He choked and spluttered on them and spat them out. He was breathing heavily.

"I told you." Lamost said with anger. He raised his foot again and stomped on the mans broken knee. He scream in anguish and reared up clasping his knee. Lamost proceeded to knee the man in the face and he flew back again and was out cold. Lamost retrieved his daggers and his cloak. He put his cloak on and before leaving he leant over the man and slowly cut his throat with the his dagger. The man awoke at this and began to gargle and grasp his neck.

Lamost walked away down the same muddy path his feet squelched and sank into the ground.
